Ipevo planning Wi-Fi based Skype Desktop phone

Last year Ipevo released their Skype Desktop Phone, and it was quite a success, given it actually looked nice, and simply needed an ethernet (network) connection and power, ie it did not need a PC. Now, there are many Dual phones, which are DECT cordless phones which can connect to both the phoneline and also run Skype (there are equally many SIP-based dual phones), but for those that want a deskphone, the Ipevo was a nice option.
Now, this week they have released the S0-10W which can use Wi-Fi to connect into your network, removing the need for one wire to the device, and allowing it to be located wherever you are working. In fact, having done a little investigation, it appears that this is simply a bundle of the Skype Desktop Phone and a Wi-Fi adaptor (which we covered here). It also appears that Ipevo have stopped selling the S0-10 Skype Desktop Phone, ie you can now only buy it with the wireless adaptor included.
Although not as portable as some of the small Wi-Fi only Skype phones on the market, nor as convenient (for some) of running the Skype application directly on their mobile phone, this will appeal to a number of Skype users.
We’re still waiting for confirmation as to whether this will be sold in the UK from the Skype Shop or not, but we certainly hope so. It currently retails for $169.99 in the US.
