Although there have been a couple of minor firmware updates for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic since it’s launch (v11.0.008 and v11.0.009), this week, Nokia are releasing v20. We’re still waiting to hear the full changelog of what’s fixed, but we hear the main additional feature, and one that many were surprised was missing when the phone launched, is support for geotagging your photos as they are taken. More information as we have it. As with all Nokia devices, the branded firmwares (eg for the Vodafone branded Nokia 5800 XprsesMusic), if released, are delayed whilst the networks test the new features, and it will be interesting to see how the networks handle a firmware update like this that brings a key feature to the phone so soon after release.
Update: It looks like that Nokia UK has been selling phones with specific product codes, which are not the generic EURO product codes. Although the update has been released for the EURO product codes, it is not yet available for the Nokia UK specific product codes. We’ll update as and when it becomes available.
