Yet again another update has been released for the S60 last.fm client, mobbler.  This new version (v0.3.3) offers the following new features:

  • No audio skipping when using other applications! (audio player is now in a separate thread)
  • Start buffering the next track when the current track is still playing, but has finished downloading
  • Added an audio equaliser
  • Export the track queue to a log file to be uploaded by scrobble uploader on a PC
  • Can now pause the music player and this is not counted as stopping the track – long tracks like podcasts were being scrobbled multiple times when paused because of this
  • Other minor improvements and fixes

The first point is quite key, as the app had a habit of stuttering or skipping when the phone was doing other tasks.  As is the case with the last few mobbler updates, users should get direct notification within the app of the new version, but if not, head over to the website for the download.  This new feature has come from a new developer who has recently joined the mobbler development team, so it will be interesting to see what other new features or improvements appear in the future.

Thanks to gerrymoth at nokiAAddict.com for the nudge the new version was released, although he himself has been having a few problems with this version.
