On the 18th August, 3 will launch the Skypephone S2 for “around” £69.99. The spec includes:

• Size: 103 x 45 x 14mm
• Display: 2.2in QVGA screen
• Battery: 1150 mAh
• Memory on board: 50MB
• Memory card type: Micro SD up to 4GB
• HSDPA: 3.6
• Camera: 3.2 megapixel

It features built in PC drivers for easy connection between your PC and the Skypephone S2. No news on some of the other features rumoured earlier this month (eg WiFi), so we can assume they were just rumours. Unlike the original Skypephone, this version will only be available in black for the launch next month.

In other 3 news, they will be carrying the Nokia E71 in Black, and they also have the exclusive on the White version, they have a new Mobile Broadband dongle due out soon with a built in microSD card slot (to allow it to be used as a flash drive), they are trialling a home router (which uses the new dongle for connectivity) as we mentioned before, they will have the Nokia N96 from September, and are planning to offer email to all handsets for £2.50 per month (for access to Hotmail / Google Mail etc.) without the data usage coming out of the normal data bundle.
