Asus Eee 900

In other Asus news, it looks like the price of the 900 may fall to allow the 901 to be sold alongside it. Although this price information is not confirmed, what has been confirmed is a battery upgrade option for 900 users. Compared to the 5800mAh Asus supply elsewhere, the UK Eee 900 ships with a 4400mAh battery. For those that find this too little (and apparently Asus claims to have had only 5 complaints about battery life), you can send your battery to Asus along with £11.75 (£10+VAT), and they will send you by return the 5800mAh version. An alternative option is that Asus are making a firmware update for the 900 available, which will increase battery life by approximately 30 minutes. Asus do make the point that although the UK spec Eee 900 came with a lower capacity battery, it does ship with 2 years warranty (as opposed to most other countries’ 1 year warranty).

This battery offer is available from June 10th, with more information here.
